Timeline

Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. followed immediately by cocktail hour and the dinner reception.

The timeline after the ceremony is likely to change a bit, but here's a rough idea of what to expect on the day of the wedding.

Can I bring a plus one?

It will be indicated on your invite if you have been allocated a plus one. Thanks for understanding!

Venue

Are the ceremony and reception at the same venue?

Yes! The entire event will take place at the Restaurant at 5251 Oak St, Vancouver.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on the enclosed patio and the reception will be indoors in the restaurant.

How do I get to the venue?

We recommend taking public transit or using a rideshare service if possible. The venue is located on W 37th ave just off Oak street.

There is limited parking for the Shaughnessy Restaurant in the VanDusen parking lot just off W 37th (highlighted below in yellow). Additional street parking is available in the residential neighbourhood south of the restaurant (also highlighted in yellow!)

What if I have a dietary requirement and/or allergies?

You'll be able to note any restrictions when you rsvp.

Will you feed me?

Yes! There will be passed hor d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a seated dinner and dessert.

Will you be serving alcohol?

Yes! There will be an open bar during cocktail hour and the reception. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Can I take photos?

We kindly request an unplugged ceremony, however you’re welcome (and encouraged!) to take photos during the cocktail hour and reception.

Do you have a gift registry?

Your presence is all we could ever ask for, but if you wish to get us a gift click this button to get to our registry.

If you’d like to contribute to our honeymoon fund, we'll have a card table available at the venue.

What should I wear?

Please dress in semi-formal attire. The wedding party will be dressed in navy, dark red, and dark green. Feel free to wear those colours as well!

What accommodations are available for out-of-town guests?

While we don’t have specific hotel recommendations, we will be staying at the River Rock in Richmond. There are plenty hotel options in that area that are about a 15 minute drive from the venue. Hotels in downtown Vancouver are also around a 15-20 minute drive away.

BC has some restrictions for AirBnb and Vrbo, so those options will may be more challenging to book.
